A short independent horror film set in a remote desert diner, “Dine In, Die Out” starrs veteran actors Timothy Quill (Army of Darkness, Spiderman) and Daniel Schweiger (Phantasm: Ravager, Free Enterprise).
The director specifically wanted the music for D.I.D.O to be straight out of a 1960’s “spaghetti western” film. Although I had never written in that genre, watching those old films again quickly brought back memories of myself as a kid with my grandpa. He loved those films, and I believe that because those early experiences I was able to tap into that style and feel.
Directed and produced by Ricardo Vasquez of Deep Murder Productions.
Music For Dine In, Die Out
Into The Night We Ride
I started this with an acoustic guitar and a simple melody but it quickly morphed into the grand production that it is. I got a hold of tympani sample along with some decent symphonic VSTi plugins and used mics on the rest. It came together really smoothly.
An Offer Youse Can’t Refuse
Although this one was inspired by the classic film “The Godfather” (if it wasn’t obvious), it fit the scene which it was intended for so we kept it. Special thanks to my brothers Drew and Chris for providing the outstanding Bass and Drums skills.
